Turtles are bright eyed, bushy tailed, fearless and unafraid folk with a fighter pilot attitude. They think clean, have fun a lot, and recognize the fact that you never get anyplace in life worthwhile unless you stick your neck out.
Fellow Turtle, it is with deep gratitude that I say, Happy Thanksgiving! Our Turtle community has grown over the last eight years. Together, we have procured thousands of Turtles and spread laughter to the world. While it has not always been smooth and easy, we have persevered and continue our journey in turbulent times. That is the nature of being a good Turtle and sticking your neck out without fear.
I’m thankful for many things in my life, but today, I want to highlight a unique and heartfelt aspect of our Turtle Club – the legacy we leave and the bonds we cherish. Recently, I was profoundly moved by a story that embodies the spirit of our community. A family member of a dearly departed Turtle reached out to us. In sorting through their beloved’s belongings, they discovered something special – a Turtle Club membership card, a token of a life spent cherishing camaraderie and joy.
This small, yet significant discovery led them to us, the Ancient and Honorable Order of Turtles. Curious and touched by the legacy left behind, they reached out to learn more about this unique fellowship their loved one was part of. It’s moments like these that remind us of the impact of our shared laughs and the bonds we forge.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, this story warms my heart and makes me deeply thankful for the family we have in this club. We are not just a group of individuals who enjoy a good challenge and a laugh – we are a family that spans generations, a community that holds a special place in the hearts of many. When one of us leaves this world, they leave behind not just memories, but a legacy that continues to inspire and connect us.
As we celebrate this Thanksgiving, let us remember and be thankful for the laughter, the challenges, and the memories we’ve shared. Let’s raise a glass to the Turtles who have passed on, honoring their memory by continuing the fine tradition they were part of. Let’s welcome new members with open arms, as they add their own chapters to our ongoing story.
