Wow! We gathered on Saint Patrick’s Day evening and had a blast. A dozen or more Turtles from around the country joined the fun as we laughed and shared stories.
Congratulations to our Turtle Race winner, Debbie Gaines. This was Debbie’s first attendance at a gathering, and she now will have a t-shirt to remember it by!
Big news came out of the gathering. We put a pin in plans to gather in person!
Look for information about our proposed invasion of Marathon, Florida. Turtle Kay is checking out Tranquility Bay for a contract deal on rooms for mid-October. We are considering October 9th – 11th or 16th – 18th for an IN-PERSON gathering of the Turtle Club Us Pond!
Special thanks to Derrick Lazzara, who just happened to jump in on the gathering for the first time. He lives in Marathon and is happy to give us some local intel.
For those who have not been to gatherings, it is an informal and brief meeting to catch up and learn a bit about the natural habitats of member Turtles far and wide. We have discussed an in-person gathering a few times, and I proposed the Marathon idea due to the Sea Turtle Hospital there. Love it how plans just come together sometimes!
