Another International Gathering of Turtles was held on Fat Tuesday!

Special thanks to GG for her inspiring celebration of the food and her Mardi Gras attire. 

Our gathering included a new member from Brazil. Nathalia joined the fun from Rio de Janeiro! Nathalia is from the Guanabara Pond in Brazil.

We laughed as we rewatched an Old Forester Turtle Derby that we live-streamed over five years ago. I discovered that Old Forester pulled down all the Turtle Derby replays from YouTube.

Turtle Racing

Old Forester’s Turtle Derby inspired me to create our own virtual version of a Turtle race. I’ve been working to improve it over time. You can find it linked up in our menu or just go to derby.turtleclub.us

We ran a turtle race and both Walter, who won a t-shirt last month, and Tony picked the same winner. In a run off Walter won, but conceded the shirt to Tony, who is our resident Dad Joke expert. So, we expect to see Tony in his new shirt next month:)

Special Pond Accomplishments

Lucretia of The Velvet Shell Society shared that over her birthday weekend, they procured four new Turtles! 

St. Patrick’s Day

Our next virtual Pond gathering will be held on St. Patrick’s Day! So wherever you end up at around 8 pm EST on March 17th, pop in for a toast with your Turtle friends!
