Many, many years ago I realized I loved everything and anything turtle. My Mom would buy me turtle trinkets, turtle earrings, etc. One year she surprised me by enrolling me in the Turtle Club. At the time, the motto was “You can’t be a turtle if you don’t stick your neck out”. She was always chastising me for doing just that so I was a perfect fit. Time passed and as often happens, the Turtle Club got filed away in that overloaded file cabinet in my brain, pushed to the back, and forgotten. I was probably 30 then and now I’m 77. Last week lost in thought and idle time, I found that file drawer in my brain and remembered the Turtle Club. I re-enrolled myself and here I am. Thank you. I am proud and humble that you would allow me to be a part of this great tradition.
